Dave Eanet joined WGN as the Sports Director of WGN Radio in July 1996 and is heard during the Steve Cochran show weekday mornings. He is also often seen on WGN-TV as the sports anchor on “WGN News at Nine.”

Eanet has been the radio play-by-play voice of Northwestern Wildcat Football since 1990. The games have been heard on WGN Radio since 1996. He has also been WGN Radio’s voice of Northwestern Wildcat Basketball since 1996, and has also filled in frequently on play-by-play of Chicago Cubs Baseball.

Eanet was named 2011 Illinois Sportscaster of the Year by the National Association of Sportscasters and Sportswriters. He has been honored numerous times for his Wildcat radio broadcasts with the “Silver Dome Award” for “best sports play-by-play” from the Illinois Broadcasters Association, and the A.I.R. Award for play-by-play. In 2005, 2006 and 2008, he received a “Silver Dome” for “best local sportscast” in Illinois, and was named “Best Sportscaster” in 2010 and 2011

In 2005, Eanet was inducted as an honorary member of the Northwestern University Athletic Hall of Fame. He was made an honorary member of the N Club, Northwestern’s Letterwinners’ organization, in 2002, and was honored by the Northwestern Gridiron Network with its Distinguished Service Award in 2000.
