Valerie Harper, the actress best known for her roles on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and its spinoff “Rhoda,” has died at age 80 following a long battle with cancer, according to multiple reports. She appeared a number of times on WGN Radio over the years. Two of those visits are below.

Valerie Harper, best known for her role on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Rhoda,” visits with Steve Cochran and Dean Richards talking about her health: “My doctor doesn’t like the word recession, but [the cancer] seems to be receding.” She also discusses her Hallmark Channel movie debuting on Easter Sunday.  (4/9/2014)
