Welcome to the July 31st edition of The Sunday Spin. Well, we’re through both presidential nominating conventions and now it’s time to see where things stand. For our first guest, we’ll talk to WBEZ-FM political reporter Tony Arnold, fresh from his return from Philadelphia. Tony had the unenviable duty of being at both political conventions and we’ll get his thoughts on the differences and similarities. Then we’ll speak to “Unlock Congress” author Michael Golden. Michael will give us his thoughts on the status of the Democratic campaign coming out of Philadelphia and his view of the Republicans after they left Cleveland. And after that, Christopher Mooney joins the show. Chris is the director of the Institute of Government and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois and we’ll get his summary of the positives and the negatives coming out of each party’s national nominating convention.
