The great Ron OJ Parson joins Justin at The Big Table to talk about his illustrious career in theater, what brought him to Chicago, starting Onyx Theatre, the importance of working with an ensemble, what it was like doing theater in Chicago in the mid-90’s, the differences between the theater scenes in Chicago and New York City, what genre he is most attracted to, his thoughts on the post-show discussion, the ability of theater to push social issues, bringing more diversity into the theater, what kept him working in Chicago, how he balances a number of different jobs and his two new projects including “Apartment 3A” at the Windy City Playhouse and “East Texas Hot Links” at the Writers Theatre.
