Author and Columbia College Professor Sam Weller joins Justin to talk about a class at Columbia called, “Chicago: City of Stories” that explores the history of Chicago literature and storytelling from the Great Fire of 1871 to the present. Sam talks about where the idea for this class comes from, how storytellers have impacted the city, studying what story means, the importance of curiosity to artists and imploring students to get out of their comfort zone. Also joining Sam and Justin in-studio are some Columbia College students who talk about what they have learned from taking the course.
