This week’s Nocturnal Journal starts off with Debra Kerr and Cleo Wilson of The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art to talk about the gallery’s unique position as an outlet for self-taught artists, and an upcoming exhibit on celebrated artist Gregrory “Mr. Imagination” Warmack.

Dave observes the 20th anniversary of prolific independent label Bloodshot Records with co-founder Nan Warshaw and musician Jon Langford.  They discuss the upcoming 20th Anniversary Concert slated for January 10 at Metro, talk about the catalogue of artists on the label over the years, and Jon plays a few live acoustic numbers.

Nick Russo, former house piano player at the legendary Jilly’s on Rush Street joins the show to play a few tunes and tell stories of his time behind the keys at the piano bar that once hosted the likes of Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, and more.

Finally we head out to Las Vegas on the Nocturnal Journey, where guitarist Bruce Rickard has just been honored by the Guinness Book of World Records for most theatrical performances by a male musician – 9,558 to be exact.  Rickard performs in Cirque du Soliel’s Mystere, in residence at Treasure Island.
