Dave Hoekstra welcomes back Chicago folk staple Eddie Holstein, who talks about life in the rich Chicago folk music scene of the ’70’s,  growing up in South Shore and the pure experience of buying records without any other pop culture noise, the culture shock of getting into the scene on the North side, bonding with John Belushi over “On the Waterfront”, passing down his folk knowledge with a classes at the Old Town School of Folk Music (including a course on the Steve Goodman song book), Goodman’s experience with the real ‘Lincoln Park Pirates’, and more.

Holstein joins the Billy Prine Band for a show at SPACE in Evanston on Saturday, June 23rd.
