Lucia Mauro is the writer and director of the new short film “In My Brother’s Shoes,” which is the story of a Chicago man who honors his fallen Marine brother by wearing his combat boots on a pilgrimage to Rome.

In this conversation with Nick Digilio, she talks about going from being a theater critic to a filmmaker, shooting on location in Europe and a special screening and fundraiser this Sunday September 21st at 5pm.

Taking place at the Auditorium Theatre at Roosevelt University it features a Q&A session, live piano concert by the film’s composer, and reception.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Pritzker Military Museum & Library’s Veterans Information Center.
