Andrea Darlas was joined by ABC’s Tom Rivers to discuss why Ukraine is the news again, and Paul Morello with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. September is Hunger Action Month, and here are a few ways for you to get involved.

-86 Hunger’ Campaign – during Hunger Action Month at various restaurants, a portion of the proceeds from specific menu items will be donated to the Food Depository.

-Go Orange – Throughout the month, wear orange to show your support for hunger-relief in our community.

-Advocacy – On September 30, the Child Nutrition Reauthorization – the federal law that funds many children’s meal programs – is set to expire. We’re encouraging constituents to contact their lawmakers asking them to support a strong bill that fully funds those programs.
-CANstruction – People can view the annual CANstruction exhibit in the Merchandise Mart, which runs through Sept. 8. Structures made entirely of cans were created by 20 teams from design and architecture firms in Chicago. Once the exhibit is over, the cans will be donated to the Food Depository.
