Celebrating 60 years, The DuSable Museum opened in 1961 as the Ebony Museum of Negro History and Art. Its the country’s first independent museum celebrating Black Culture. Located in Chicago’s historic Washington Park the museum features innovative exhibitions and powerful educational programs. The DuSable Museum has more than 15-thousand pieces, including paintings, sculptures, print works and historical memorabilia.
