The western U.S. is bracing for a record heat wave this weekend. The center, 45 miles east of Los Angeles, is on the same grounds as LoanMart Field, home to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball farm team. Saturday night home games end with fireworks shows. Classical music is played throughout the center beginning in the early evening on nights with fireworks. (AP Photo/Damian Dovarganes)

With hot weather still in the forecast, it’s important to look after our furry friends during peak temperatures. WGN Radio’s resident pet expert Steve Dale joins John Landecker to share tips on what owners can do to help pets beat the heat. Plus, Steve talks about fallen CPD officer Ella French’s love for animals and her mother’s request to support local shelters in her daughter’s name.

Catch Steve Dale Sundays at 5:30am and 1pm on WGN Radio and any time at stevedalepetworld.com.
