Welcome everybody to Down and Distance, where two dads talk sports, music, life and parenting. Jarrett Payton and Shaun Davis discuss the biggest issues and interview the best and brightest.

Jimmy Butler has been a lightning rod since the 2015 NBA Playoffs.  After the 2015 Playoffs,  news surfaced about a strained relationship between Butler and Derrick Rose.  With a new max contract in hand, Jimmy Butler began to assert himself as the face of the franchise and leader in the Bulls locker room.  His controversial comments throughout the season have been met with a mixed bag of reactions, but as the dust settles from a disappointing 2015-16 campaign, it has become clear that the likelihood of a Rose/Butler backcourt beyond 2017 is doubtful.

Shaun Davis, Camron Smith (CBS 2 Chicago), Eugene McIntosh (The Bigs), and Terrence Tomlin (The Bigs) discuss the beginning and evolution of the Rose/Butler feud, it’s eventual outcome and the narratives that have driven it to this point.
