Brian recaps his recent escapades in New York City, outrageous concert riders from performers at Taste of Chicago and other major acts, and talks barbecue with Amy Mills from the Windy City Smokeout. Plus: a brand-new edition of Florida News!

To kick off the show, Brian gives a recap of the protests on the Dan Ryan Expressway on Saturday, July 7, including some Twitter drama among politicians discussing the event. He then recaps his second trip to New York within just a few weeks, and the outrageous traffic he had to deal with on the way in and out of the city.  He explains why he pretty much just ate pizza and burgers the entire time he was in the city, but Cody has a great recommendation for delicious chicken and waffles in Williamsburg in Brooklyn, plus his favorite spot for chicken and waffles in Lincoln Park in Chicago.

With Taste of Chicago coming up, Brian then turns his attention to a Chicago Tribune story about how musicians performing at the event are being denied concert riders because they aren’t allowed to get alcohol, “infant rehydration powder,” cookies, and certain other ridiculous items. He also discusses the concert rides of other famous musicians such as Eminem, Kanye West, Cher, and even other performers including Pauly Shore.

During a visit to the Irish American Heritage Center over the weekend, Brian quoted Conan O’Brien’s famous “Tayto” visit to the center… and discovered that the gift shop has a new policy specifically banning the word! Hear his hilarious story.

Amy Mills from 17th Street Barbecue in Murphysboro then calls in to discuss the Windy City Smokeout on July 13-15, 2018, at 560 West Grand Avenue in Chicago. New musical acts have been announced, and the world’s best pitmasters will be smoking and grilling both regional specialties and new-school flavors that go beyond the boundaries of traditional barbecue.

Brian wraps up the show with another exciting edition of Florida News!
