To celebrate Labor Day weekend, Brian reads a list of good “sick day” excuses people can make to get out of working after a holiday weekend, and the discussion evolves into a heated debate between him and his producer Cody Gough on labor laws and how employers treat their employees. Then, Brian discusses a proposed device called a “Textalyzer” that could curb traffic accidents that have been caused by distracted driving, while supposedly not infringing too much on the privacy of drivers. Brian turns his attention to “helicopter parents” and stories from both China and from the U.S., and Karen Conti joins the program with some labor law trivia and to answer legal questions from listeners.
