Today on the Opening Bell, Greg Warsek joined Steve Grzanich to discuss the recent interest tax hike and its effects on the housing market. Greg reminded how important it is to look at the hike both in the short and long terms and said that, compared to changes made in the past 25 years, the rise is relatively low. Then, they talked about the housing market in the Chicagoland area at large and the occupancy rate of suburban apartments compared with ones in the city. Finally, they reviewed the city’s new restricting regulations on home-sharing sites like Airbnb.
