Speed camera ticket spike: Would a cop pull me over for going 6 mph over the limit?

Bob Sirott

File – In this Oct. 29, 2014 file photo, motorists drive past a sign warning of upcoming traffic cameras in Cleveland. The Ohio Supreme Court on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, rejected a driver’s motion to reconsider their 4-3 ruling in December. The court ruled in favor of Ohio cities’ authority to use cameras to catch speeders and red light-runners and to handle drivers’ appeals with administrative procedures. (AP Photo/Tony Dejak, File)

Jason Knowles, Consumer Investigative Reporter for ABC 7, joined Bob Sirott to talk about the speed camera ticket spike as drivers that are caught going 6-10 mph over the limit are issued a $35 ticket. This has ultimately tripled the number of speeding tickets issued. Is this an overreach for the city?
