Thompson Center in Chicago. The glass-paneled building is mentioned as a possible location for a casino should Illinois lawmakers pass a proposed plan. Trying to get a Chicago casino isn’t new, but the latest proposal OK’d recently by the Illinois Senate is seen as the best chance yet. There are still lingering concerns about corruption. The bill proposes five casinos, including in Chicago. The city casino would have its own board, something experts say is unique among other urban casinos that report to state boards. Michael Wood, Chicago Architecture Center’s Senior Curator and Director of Program Strategy, joined Bob Sirott to talk about if the winners of the contest the Chicago Architecture Center held could be in picked as the redesign plan of the Thompson Center.
