Professor Dennis Roberson, Vice Provost of IIT, wants the FCC to require cell phone manufacturers to put “kill switches” on their devices. Stolen phones would hold no value if the owners could deactivate them. Roberson says it’s a matter of preventing crime and protecting personal information.
