Barbara Gaines, the founder and artistic director of Chicago Shakespeare Theater, sits down with Rick Kogan to talk about her new production of Shakespeare’s “King Lear.” Gaines, a frequent guest of the show, was drawn to remount “King Lear” after hearing a well-known Frank Sinatra tune. Just what about that song made her want to put on “King Lear” again? How is this version different than any of the others she staged? Well, you’ll just have to listen to find out.
