Angela Hicks, executive director of the Institute of Women Today, talks about the organization and its mission with “After Hours” host, Rick Kogan.
From the organization’s website: The Institute of Women Today is a nonprofit organization that has served the Chicago community since 1974. Our mission is twofold: to provide transitional housing for homeless women and their children and to provide experiences that empower, mentor, and support women so they can achieve their highest potential. Today, IWT supports and operates Maria Shelter, a 50-bed transitional residence, and the Vincennes Senior Center, both located in the Englewood community on Chicago’s South Side.”
