Dave Hoekstra welcomes veteran journalist Don DeBat and George Bliss, curator of the Chicago 16” Softball  Hall of Fame for a discussion on the game that’s uniquely ingrained in the fabric of the city.  DeBat, who spent 47 years on the diamond, talks about the history of the game from the schoolyard to the infamous media leagues in Grant Park; we hear about suburban Forest Park as a hot bed for softball as the home to the Hall of Fame, as well as an upcoming tournament of some of the most competitive teams in the sport; the surprisingly physical nature of the media games, and of course plenty of Mike Royko stories.
