Folk Trio Glass Mountain with Justin Kaufmann

The incredible folk trio Glass Mountain join Justin in Studio 435 to talk about playing music in Chicago, the folk music scene, where the epicenter of the scene originates, the importance of The Old Town School of Folk Music to the community,  the meaning of “old time” as a musical genre, the similarity to the “alt-country” movement, balancing their day jobs with their musical goals, the need to create new tunes while also honoring the past, their latest record, “Restless Mind” and an upcoming show at Hungry Brain . They also perform a few songs including “Restless Mind,” “Float Away” and “John Riley the Shepherd / Betty Likens.”
