From Hair, to Ragtime, Musical theatre historian Charles Troy explains what motivated him to investigate the creations of some of America’s best musicals. A couple of his findings involves the impact White Christmas had on the Christmas music industry, and the origin of “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” which may have started out as a song of drunkenness.
