Following the Chicago Cubs’ historic victory clinching the pennant for the first time since 1945, Just One Bad Century dot com Editor in Chief Rick Kaempfer joins Brian in-studio to talk about the significance of the big win. During their conversation, legendary DJ John Records Landecker calls in with a crazy Cubs story from his history working with Rick. The call diverts Brian’s attention from Cubs euphoria to local radio history, and he reminisces with newsman Roger Badesch about some of the classic Chicago radio wars of the 60s, 70s, and beyond. Then, Brian fights through his jet lag to discuss spending a week in Madrid during his first trip abroad. Karen Conti joins the program to wrap up the show by discussing El Chapo and answering legal questions from listeners.
