Filmmaker Joe Swanberg makes a return visit to The Download to talk with Justin about “Easy,” his new hit show on Netflix. Joe talks about when he came up with the idea for a television series, the differences between working on a movie and a television show, the way the series is structured, his interest in modern relationships, how Chicago plays a significant role in the series, showing a different Chicago other than what we are used to seeing on screen, how he helped get the actors ready to play their roles, the collaborative process of making the show, what television shows inspired him while he was growing up, how he has evolved as a filmmaker and creator, the amount of freedom he had in making the show and the chances we see an “Easy” season 2.
