Justin Kaufmann, Augusta Read Thomas and Joey Brink

Grammy Award-winning composer Augusta Read Thomas joins Justin to talk about the Ear Taxi Festival, a first-of-its-kind, large-scale celebration of 21st century classical music written and performed by Chicago musicians. Augusta discusses her career, when she moved to Chicago, why she decided to put this festival together, the strength of the contemporary classical music scene in Chicago and what brings composers to Chicago. Joining Augusta Read Thomas in-studio is festival performer Joey Brink, who is the Carillonneur at the University of Chicago. What the heck is a carillon?
