Dan Ryan lane closures (and traffic headaches) coming in September

CHICAGO — Work on the 95th Street Red Line terminal will cause traffic headaches for inbound Dan Ryan Expressway drivers starting in September, transportation officials said.

The left-most inbound lane of the Dan Ryan will be closed Sept. 6 and will not reopen until around Thanksgiving, the Illinois Department of Transportation and CTA said Thursday.

It will close again next spring and last until the fall, when crews hope to wrap up construction on a new terminal for bus and Red Line passengers at 95th and State streets, officials said in a news release.

The left lane of the inbound Dan Ryan will be closed just south and north of 95th Street, officials said. Traffic delays are to expected, officials said.
