After that, Republican state Sen. Matt Murphy from Palatine, the deputy GOP leader in the chamber, stops by to chat about how Springfield dealt with emergency stop-gap short-term funding rescue for higher education.

Last, Deputy Democratic leader of the House, state Rep. Lou Lang of Skokie, about his proposal for a graduated income tax and what comes next in the high-stakes budget battle in Springfield.
