Jake Little (L) and Frankie Valadez

Frank Valadez, Executive Director of the Chicago Metro History Education Center and Jake Little, teacher at Lakeview Jr. High in Downers Grove talk with Rick Kogan about the Chicago Metro History Fair.

They discuss the Fair as a way to get students engaged with history outside of lectures and textbooks and the importance of letting students form their own questions and develop their own interest in historical topics; they also talk to former participant Chakena Sims, whose participation in the Fair has driven her own political aspirations.
