Ralph Shugart

Ralph Shugart was the first employee of WDAP, the station that would become WGN. He was known as “The Shiek,” he was a man of many talents: licensed operator, studio engineer, transmission engineer, telephone operator, program director, announcer, secretary to the management, and publicity director.
