Lloyd Pettit joined WGN in 1956. Pettit was sportscaster, best known for WGN-TV work on Chicago Cubs and Chicago Blackhawks telecasts, but also was a backup announcer (along with Vince Lloyd) for Chicago Bears broadcasts on WGN Radio when either Jack Brickhouse or Irv Kupcinet were not available. He also was announcer and sidekick on The Wally Phillips Show.
