NHLers to participate in Olympics

NHL players are headed back to the Winter Olympics.

The league and its players’ association officially announced Friday that they have reached an agreement with the International Ice Hockey Federation to allow players to participate in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

The Olympic tournament will run from Feb. 12-23, 2014 and the NHL will break from Feb. 9-26 to allow more than 120 players to compete for the respective nations. If you’re planning ahead, the Gold Medal game will be Sunday, February 23, at 6 a.m. Chicago time.
