WGN Sports Night hosts David Kaplan, Andrea Darlas and Brian Noonan
Weeknights 7 – 10 p.m.
WGN Sports Night brings to life the hot topics of the day in the sports world and beyond. The ensemble cast, featuring David Kaplan, Brian Noonan and Andrea Darlas, goes beyond the headlines to bring both serious and lighthearted debate of sports and current events.
David Kaplan
David Kaplan is one of the most trusted names on the Chicago sports scene. He joined WGN Radio as a sports reporter in April of 1995 and is currently the afternoon drive sports reporter and host of WGN Sports Night, heard weeknights 7-10 p.m., and Cubs Insider, heard Sundays leading up to Cubs broadcasts. Kaplan is also one of the hosts of the 10th inning, WGN Radio’s Cubs postgame show, as well as the host of Cubs Confidential, which features candid one-on-one interviews telling the life stories of current and former Cubs players and key personnel.
Brian Noonan
Brian was born and raised in Glenwood or as he likes to call it, “the Really, Really Southside.” He is the oldest of five boys. Brian attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Unlike a lot of attendees, he graduated in four years with a B.S. in Radio-T.V. In his senior year, Brian entered a stand-up comedy contest that unbeknownst to him foreshadowed his future. After graduation, Brian worked at a few radio stations so small, that instead of actually broadcasting, Brian would go house to house and do his show in person. It was during a stint at one of these stations that Brian drove to St. Louis and did his first “open mic” night at a comedy club. The rest is history.
Andrea Darlas
Andrea Darlas is a Chicago-based award-winning radio and television news anchor and reporter. Andrea is also a TV reporter and “green correspondent” for the nationally-syndicated show House Smarts, which airs weekly on NBC-5 in Chicago. At WGN, Andrea has won a number of awards for her news anchoring, reporting, breaking news coverage, and investigative series reports. She’s contributed news stories and feature reports for WGN-TV, CLTV, Metromix, ABC News, the Chicago Tribune, KTLA-TV in Los Angeles and chicagotribune.com. Andrea is also a staff writer for the Chicago Greek Circle Magazine.
