Politically
Correct Season's Greetings (audio
version)
Please
accept with no obligation, implied or implicit our
best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially
responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral,
celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced
within the most enjoyable traditions of the religous
persuasion of your choice, or secular practices
of your choice, with respect for the religous/secular
persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their
choice not to practice religous or secular traditions
at all.
We
also wish you a fiscally successful, personally
fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition
of the onset of the generally accepted calendar
year 2000, but not without due respect for the calendars
of choice of other cultures whose contributions
to society have helped make America great, (not
to imply that America is necessarily greater than
any other country or is the only "America" in the
western hemisphere,) and without regard to the race,
creed, color, age, phsyical ability, religous faith,
or sexual preference of the wishee.
By
accepting this greeting, you are accepting these
terms: This greeting is subject to clarification
or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no
alteration to the original greeting. It implies
no promise by the wisher to actually implement any
of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is
void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at
the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is
warranted to perform as expected within the usual
application of good tidings for a period of one
year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday
greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is
limited to replacement of this wish or issuance
of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

You
overweight?
We
talked on the show today about the JAMA (Journal
of the American Medical Association) body mass index
calculator. And son of a gun, many of us come out
as overweight, obese or nearly so. The calculation
goes like this: Multiply 4.89 X your weight in pounds,
then divide this by your height in feet squared.
So...I am 4.89 X 180 divided by 36. Comes to about
24.4. They say 25-29 is overweight. 30+ is obese.
Good luck. The details are also at JAMA.com.

John:
I was in the car returning
to work from lunch today when your guest offered
some recommendations for internet mutual funds.
Unfortunately, I was not able to write down the
phone numbers. I found one, NetNet, on the internet
(which only makes sense) but the web page states
the fund started in April 1999 and I thought your
guest said it had been around a couple of years.
I would hate to confuse a recommended fund with
one that is not. Could you provide the names and
phone numbers to me? I enjoy your show and wish
I had access to a radio at the office.
Thank you,
Beth Rotz
PS - Yesterday I bought AOL at $100. Wouldn't Matt
be jealous?
Beth - I'm sorry you
can't listen more regularly, too. (It's how I pay
my bills.) Still, thanks for tuning in when you
can. The funds we talked about are.
1. NetNet at (I checked
these numbers) 1-800-468-6337
2. Internet Fund at
1-888-386-3999
3. WWW.Internet Fund
at 1-888-263-2204
Our guest liked netnet
the best but all sounded good. He also spoke about
Stein Roe Young Investors fund at 1-800-338-2550.
The author/expert was Jordan Goodman. His book is
Everyone's Money Book and the number to order
it at $26.95 is 1-800-606-0347./
Good luck and thanks
for listening
