"You're headed for a crash and you don't know what to do. You're looking at a blank screen looking back at you. Your mouse is acting funny, got a mind all of its own. Well, put it down, turn around and pick up your telephone. Call Don Crabb. You can call Don Crabb. He'll ease your mind and get you back online."

Crabb on Computers User's Guide Version 1.0
This handy guide has been designed to help you, the loyal WGN listener, get the most out of listening to "Crabb on Computers", Saturday nights at 10pm.
    What's Wrong with My Radio?
Unless it's smoking (and everyone knows computers shouldn't smoke-silly) everything should be fine. But if it sounds a little different, you must be listening to Don Crabb. Every Saturday night at 10pm, Don takes over the reins here at WGN, bringing with him a load of computer knowledge bigger than Bill Gates' bank account or Steve Jobs' ego.
Does This Show Have Anything to do With Computers?
Yes! And we would like to compliment you on your razor sharp attention to detail. No computer, internet or technology question is too big or too small for "The Gigabyte Godzilla." Here's the way it works: call (312) 591-7200 and your call will be instantly zapped through the stratosphere to our luxurious WGN studios, where the Professor is always in.
Who Can Listen to This Show?
Well, anybody with ears...we guess. But if you're asking about the knowledge level required to listen and, more importantly, understand what the heck we're talking about, the answer is simple: Everyone from newbies to full-blown geeks are welcome at "Crabb on Computers". Some of the best questions come from listeners who claim they know absolutely nothing about computers!
Just Who is This "Don Crabb" Character?
In his day job, Don is the Associate Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies in Computer Science at The University of Chicago. (An august institution of learning, also home to Milt Rosenberg) Ever the Renaissance man, Don is trained as an historian as well as a computer scientist. He specializes in empowering humanities and liberal arts students with a critical understanding of computer science, programming and digital technologies.
Does He Have a Nefarious Plan to Take Over the Planet?
Nope. But Don is a multi-taskin' guy from waaaaaaay back. For example: Not only can you hear him on WGN Saturday nights at 10pm, you can also catch him on Steve and Johnnie during "Web Site Wednesday Nite". He has also been known to pop in from time to time with Bob Collins, Kathy and Judy and Spike O'Dell.
    Geeze, Does This Guy Sleep?
No, which probably explains a lot! If you just can't get enough of "The Don" on WGN Radio, there are plenty of other places to find him around town: Don's columns appear daily in the Chicago Sun-Times and you can actually see him in living color on WFLD-TV Fox 32's "Fox Thing in the Morning", with Bob Sirott and Marianne Murciano, Thursdays at 8am. Because no computer guru's cv would be complete without a website, you can also read more about Don, computers and a whole lot more at www.doncrabb.com.
What's All This Hollywood Nonsense He Keeps Talking About?
Well, it's a really long story. Too long to ramble on about here. But if you really, really want to know, click here.
Do I Need Special Protective Gear to Listen to This Show?

No, but it may be a good idea to cover your head...or perhaps you might consider sporting a pair of "Don't Panic" glasses; that might do the trick.
