OFFICIAL RULES
Camp Kathy & Judy Talent Show
To Enter:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, send us a video,
DVD, audio tape, or audio CD of your talent. If we select
you as a winner, you will perform live along with 5 other
winners at the 2007 Kathy & Judy Convention Talent Show,
to be held Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Chicago Hilton
and Towers in downtown Chicago. Winners will also receive
a pair of tickets to the 2007 Kathy & Judy Convention
and a hotel room at the Chicago Hilton and Towers for Friday,
February 2, 2007. Send your entry to: Camp Kathy & Judy
Talent Show, c/o WGN Radio, 435 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago,
IL 60611. Entries must include the entrant(s) name(s), address(es),
age(s), and daytime phone number(s).
Entries cannot
be longer than 3 minutes, and the talent must be performed
by the individual(s) submitting the entry. Entrants must be
18 years old or older and there is a maximum of 2 performers
per entry. Entries will be accepted beginning Monday, October
30, 2006 through close of business Friday, December 29, 2006.
Entries must be received by WGN Radio by or before 5pm CST
on December 29, 2006 to be eligible. Limit one entry per household.
Winners must be available to perform at the 2007 Kathy &
Judy Convention Talent Show on Friday evening, February 2,
2007. Winners must furnish their own props and supplies needed
to perform their talent. The Chicago Hilton and Towers will
provide a piano, if needed. Winners must perform the act they
submitted in their entry at the Convention Talent Show. All
entries become the property of WGN Radio and will not be returned.
Talent
Show Winner Selection:
Beginning on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, WGN Radio will begin
reviewing all eligible entries and select six (6) winning
entries to perform live at the 2007 Kathy & Judy Convention
Talent Show held on Friday evening, February 2, 2007 at the
Chicago Hilton and Towers. The judges will assess the entrants’
talent and base their decision on the quality (34%), originality
(33%), and performance appeal (33%) of the talent. The six
winning talent show entrants are required to be available
for a live performance at the Kathy & Judy Convention
Talent Show. The winning entries are subject to verification.
If a winning entry is found to contain false information or
is submitted under false or fraudulent circumstances or if
a winner is ineligible or declines the prize, another winner
shall be selected by the judges from all remaining eligible
entries based upon the same criteria. The decisions of the
judges are final and binding on all matters relating to this
contest.
Talent
Show Winner Notification:
The six winning entries will be announced live on the Kathy
& Judy Show (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.) on Friday, January
5, 2007. The winning entrants will also be notified by phone
after 12 p.m. on that day.
Prizes:
Six (6) grand prize talent show winners will each receive
the opportunity to perform their talent live at the 2007 Kathy
& Judy Convention Talent Show on Friday evening, February
2, 2007. Each winning entry will also receive a pair of tickets
to the 2007 Kathy & Judy Convention and a hotel room at
the Chicago Hilton and Towers for Friday, February 2, 2007.
If a winning entry is submitted by two performers, only one
pair of tickets and one hotel room will be provided. Hotel
stay is only valid for a one night’s stay on February
2, 2007. Airfare or other transportation is not included.
Value of prize is $450.
Winner will be
responsible for any applicable taxes and all other expenses
related to the grand prize that are not mentioned above.
Eligibility:
This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
One winning entry per household. Winner must be 18 years of
age or older and a legal U.S. resident, excluding residents
of Rhode Island. Employees of WGN Radio, Hilton, their affiliated
companies and members of their immediate families living in
the same household are ineligible. By entering, each winner
agrees to release WGN Radio and its parent and affiliated
companies, directors, officers, employees, agents, and licensees
from any claim, loss, liability, damage or injury of any kind,
arising from the winner’s preparation of his/her contest
entry, his/her participation in this Contest, his/her receipt
or use of the contest prize, and any contest-related travel
or activity undertaken by the winner. By entering, the winner
warrants that WGN will have full permission, without further
compensation, to WGN Radio to use the entrant’s name,
voice, photograph, likeness, contest entry, and biographical
material for broadcast and promotional purposes in connection
with the contest.
Prizes will not
be awarded, even if announced, if the contestant is not eligible
in accordance with these rules. If you have won a prize valued
under $600 from WGN Radio since November 7, 2006, you will
not be eligible to enter to win.
Miscellaneous:
By participating, contestants agree WGN Radio has the sole
right to determine winners of the contest and all matters
and disputes related to the contest, and that its determination
will be final and binding. WGN Radio reserves the right to
delay contest announcements, postpone or reschedule all or
some of the contest events, or modify contest deadlines and/or
modify contest deadlines if breaking news, sports coverage
or other unanticipated events preempt regular programming.
If such changes occur, they will be posted on the wgnradio.com
website. WGN Radio will not be responsible for telephone systems
delays or malfunctions or for delays or failures incident
to internet transmission of radio broadcasts.
Except where prohibited
by law, the talent show winners are required to sign an Affidavit
of Eligibility and Release as a requirement to receiving the
prize.
There are no substitute
prizes. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
Winners will be responsible for all applicable taxes. All
federal, state and local laws apply.
