session, hosted by instructor Gayl Walder (www.ahimsaglobalyoga.com)
Special tha nks
to YMCA Camp MacLean for providing camp activities,
games, supplies and volunteers at this year's convention!
They have gone above and beyond helping make this the best
K&J camping experience possible! YMCA Camp MacLean is
a year-round camp specializing in overnight summer camp, outdoor
education programs for school groups, weekend group retreats
and family camping. Proudly serving the Chicago area since
1941. Visit www.campmaclean.com
or call 262-763-7742 for more information!
We've
got a great lineup of seminars for Saturday morning! You can
choose from:
What You Always Wanted to Know About Your Car
but Were Afraid to Ask(10:00-10:45a) with John
Muilenburg (known to WGN listeners as John the Mechanic),
ASE certified Master Automobile Technician
We all drive our cars every day, but do you really know how
they work? Here's your chance to ask a real gear guy the questions
you’ve always wondered about.
Getting
Comfo rtable
with Wine! (10:00-10:45a) with Doug Jeffirs,
Director of Wine Sales for Binny's Beverage Depot stores (www.binnys.com)
Don't miss this informal and upbeat discussion that will put
you more at ease in the confusing world of wine! Doug Jeffirs
will simplify terms, wine and food pairings, labels and more.
Included will be a fun look at those "gimmicky"
labels (are they any good???) and a chance at several prizes!
Finding
Your Way (11:00a - 11:45a) with Mike Leonard,
feature correspondent for the Today Show on NBC (mike-leonard.com)
Last year, Mike’s best-selling book, " The
Ride of Our Lives: Roadside Lessons of an American Family",
was published, telling the hilarious tale of his cross-country
RV journey with his sassy 80-plus-year-old parents and his
twenty-something-year-old children. Mike will show video from
the trip, and offer some insights into how he found his way
from his early years as a self-admitted “lousy student”
to leading the creative, happy, learning-filled life he has
today. Mike’s a nationally respected journalist, a great
talker, and an extremely quirky observer. (His book will be
available for purchase in the Waldorf Room).
Contemporary
Line Dancing (11:00-11:45a) with Eve Yeaton,
instructor (www.eveyeaton.com)
It's not what it used to be. You won't be slapping your knees
or stomping your feet and you won't hear country music. Instead,
Eve will be using today's hottest music and incorporating
today's hottest dance moves! Everyone can do it, even if you
have two left feet and have never danced before.
We're also looking forward to having a great activity
room this year!
A
convention just isn't complete without Dale Roberts from Write
Insights. Dale can tell who you are and what
makes you tick, just by looking at how you dot your i's and
cross your t's! Dale will also do some readings on Friday
afternoon and Saturday morning in the activity area in the
Northwest Hall. His lines are often long, and you'll see why!
The good news is you can book Dale for your own party! Learn
more by visiting Dale's web
page.
Therapeutic
Kneads (www.wekneadyou.com)
will also be joining us again this year! Their massages will
refresh and restore your energ y
and state of mind, as licensed therapists handle your stress
and ease your pain. You can make appointments for their Highland
Park location or in the comfort of your own home - seven days
a week. Now available - experience the multiple benefits of
space technology with Power Plate training, 10 minutes three
times a week equals 3 hours of conventional strength training.
Stop by their booth to try it for yourself!
Biofeedback
Image Consultant Dianne
Reddington will also be joining us at the convention.
We first met Dianne a few years ago, when she introduced us
to "aura photography," a high-tech image that shows
your body's electromagnetic field in vivid color. What does
a biofeedback image look like? That's Dianne's picture, over
to the left! Dianne can take your photograph and interpret
your colored chakras and energy fields! Contact Dianne for
your own personal session (or even to hire her for your conference
or convention!), by calling 847/692-4285, or write her an
e-mail at dianneaura1@aol.com.
We're
thrilled to announce that, after lunch on Saturday, the entertainment
will be performances from the Broadway in Chicago hits, Wicked
(www.wickedthemuscial.com/chicago)
and Spelling Bee (www.spellingbeethemusical.com/chicago)!
