Johnny B. talks to NFL broadcasting legend Pat Summerall. Summerall died Tuesday at the age of 82.

Legendary sports announcer Pat Summerall has died at age 82, the Dallas Morning News reports. Summerall, partnered with John Madden, formed the premier NFL broadcast team for many years, first for CBS and later at FOX.  He was also known for, among other things, his golf coverage. Summerall was, himself, an athlete, playing in the NFL for nearly a decade as a placekicker.

In January, 1986, Summerall and Madden visited with WGN Radio’s Roy Leonard, weeks before the Bears appearance in Super Bowl XX.  Here is that conversation:
