It’s (not?) the end of the world as we know it…

Some people think that the Mayan Calendar predicts that the world will end on December 21, 2012.  To others, December 21 is simply one of the last shopping days before Christmas.  Who is right?  We’ll find out on December 22 . . . if there is one.
