Dear Dean,
I value your movie reviews and watch WGN morning news every day. However, I listened to you on the radio yesterday (1/10) between 5pm & 5:30pm. I think that you crosed the line and became disrespectful with your comments about the young lady who was nominated for her work in "Beasts of the Southern Wild". Just because her name is from another culture does not mean that you don't bother to pronounce it correctly and it just might be a name that you have to remember. I'm very disappointed in you, Dean Richards.
Good morning, Dean:
Just watched the movie 'Flight' last night…WOW…what a performance by Denzel Washington. An excellent (frightening) portrayal of an addict.
Good day,the DEAN of entertainment. Please help with trivia. Are Radar,Tut the only names in tv spelled
same back forth? Also, any members of a 60s tv cast still alive? Any show never added/delted a cast member during its run? thanks
Please look at the article on the sequestration on Wikipedia. It states the fact that the sequestration is a cut in the growth of government. Even after the sequestration cuts we will still be spending more that last year. I do agree with you that congress could have made more sensible decisions regarding spending and not just across the board cuts but I also think the warning coming out now are just designed to frighten people. If a federal departments budget growth is being cut by 2% they still with spend more than last budget year.
Hello, Dean – I moved away from the Chicago area two years ago, but I was a regular listener on Sunday mornings. I remember a particular morning when Valerie Harper called you out of the blue – you'd had some guest cancel, I think, and she called in. I didn't know that you two are buddies, and it's a wonderful fun memory added to the TON of fun memories Valerie has given us over the years. No point to this message – from what I've read, she herself would say it's way too early for condolences – she said recenty about her upcoming reunion with the MTM cast on "Hot In Cleveland" "The key is, don't go to the funeral until the day of the funeral." Maybe it's enough just to thank you for the years of programming, and for allowing us to share in your friendship with this remarkable woman.
Dean, as an unheathy jog, you might want consider having people meet just out side of your showcase studio in the plaza. Then jog across Michigan Ave., Then down the steps to the Billy Goat. Spend some time with Jeff{ friendliest bartender ever}. After an hour or so { and some Schlitz beers}, Jog back up the steps to the plaza. Could not be any more fun. Mike Brown; Galesburg, Illinois
