Mark Kelly, the new Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), joins Justin to talk about what interested him in taking this job, the international scope of Chicago’s arts and culture, why we need a government agency to connect us to the arts world, the impact and history of DCASE, making culture accessible for everyone, keeping festivals free and Mayor Emanuel designating 2017 as the “Year of Public Art.”
