The Cadence Health Winfield Run will take place on Sunday, July 20, and will benefit Hedges Station Museum. The museum is the project of the Winfield Historical Society. Restoration of the 1849 depot has been completed and funds are now needed to maintain the building, purchase furnishings and accessories and create exhibits and programs of interest to the Winfield area. The museum is located at 0N555 Winfield Road. Hedges Station is the oldest building in Winfield and the oldest remaining depot in Illinois.
The 10K and 5K runs will begin and end on the Central DuPage Hospital campus at 25 North Winfield Road, and the route will take place on streets north of the hospital. The routes are USAFT certified, IL-11158-JW, IL-11159-JW. Pre-registration is available at the Winfield Park District, 0N020 County Farm Road, or at two online sites: www.signmeup.com/98449 or www.active.com key word Cadence Health. A registration form can be downloaded at www.winfieldhistory.org. Registration is also available at 6:30 A.M. on race day.
There will be prizes for the top runners, male and female, in each race, and medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group. The age groups are 11 and under, 12 –18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
The registration fee is $25 for those who sign up by 10 P.M. on July 17 and $30 after July 17. The fee for runners 11 and under is $15. The first 400 to register will receive a t-shirt.
