Rick Kogan chats with visual artist/writer Dmitry Samarov and choreographer Wendy Clinard, whose flamenco-based dance piece,Chicago’s Watershed: A 156-mile Choreography,” is having its world premiere at the Logan Center Friday and Saturday.

From the show’s website: “Clinard Dance Theatre’s new ‘Chicago’s Watershed: A 156-Mile Choreography,’ takes Stravinsky’s revolutionary ‘Rite of Spring’ as a launching point toward heretofore little-known terrain. Stripping the music down to the four hands of the Estrella Duo’s piano and playing it off Dmitry Samarov’s video-projected ink work, Clinard’s original Flamenco-based choreography reveals the dissonance and consonance of the Chicago River and the city it sustains and nourishes.”
