The average American spends about 13 hours a day sitting, and 86 percent of employed Americans have desk jobs. Even if you exercise daily, you put your health at risk if you sit for more than four continuous hours a day. Dr. Adam Bennett, sports medicine physician with NorthShore Orthpaedic Institute, encourage the morning crew to stand up for two minutes every 20 minutes. It’s just enough to stimulate circulation.
