WGN Radio’s Brandon Campbell was at the Willis Tower as repair crews replaced a half inch sheet of protective glass.

The sheet shattered Wednesday night under the feet of a visiting family who were taking in the views of Chicago more than a hundred stories up.

But the general manager of Skydeck Chicago, Randy Stancik, says that’s what the piece of glass was designed to do and the family was not in danger.

Crews normally replace the protective sheets of glass about every six months.
