After everything they threw at the Blackhawks in the first five games of their second-round series, it was clear the Wild weren’t going to go away quietly.
But go away they did as the Blackhawks kept their quest for a second consecutive Stanley Cup on track with a hard-fought 2-1 overtime victory over the Wild in Game 6 on Tuesday night at the Xcel Energy Center.
Patrick Kane scored the game-winner at the 9-minute, 40-second mark of overtime to lift the Hawks to a 4-2 series triumph and a matchup in the Western Conference finals against the winner of the Ducks-Kings series. Anaheim leads that series 3-2, with Game 6 Wednesday night in Los Angeles.
