The Blackhawks needed a wake-up call from the four-game losing streak they brought into Wednesday night’s game against the Canucks at Rogers Arena.

Canucks forward Chris Higgins obliged just 16 seconds into the game.

He took a feed from Ryan Kesler and beat Hawks goaltender Corey Crawford for an early Canucks lead.

The Hawks didn’t craft the proper response right away, but when they did it was quick and lethal. Marian Hossa, Brandon Saad, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp scored goals in a span of 7 minutes, 41 seconds in the second period to propel the Hawks to a 5-2 victory over the Canucks.

The triumph halted the Hawks’ longest losing streak of the season at four.
