GLENDALE, Ariz. — They celebrated birthdays, gathered for a Grey Cup party while in Canada and consumed a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner together in Dallas.
Yes, the Blackhawks’ annual Circus Trip had a little bit of everything, including an impressive six-game winning streak to cap it off. The latest victory was a 5-2 drilling of the Coyotes on Saturday night at Jobing.com Arena to conclude the 13-day journey that began with a blowout loss and ended with the team coming home triumphant.
“From what we heard, it’s the best Circus Trip in the history of the Hawks,” said Patrick Kane, who had a goal and an assist as the defending Stanley Cup champions dropped a three-spot on Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith within the first 12 minutes and then held on.
