A few hours before puck drop, coach Joel Quenneville was headed to a team meeting to tell the Blackhawks to be “respectful” of the Oilers.

The defending Stanley Cup champions showed the Western Conference cellar-dwelling visitors from Edmonton — who always seem to play well against the Hawks — a little too much respect before finally coming alive and prevailing 5-4 Sunday night at the United Center.

Brandon Saad had a goal and an assist while Andrew Shaw, Bryan Bickell, Marcus Kruger and Duncan Keith also scored to help the Hawks to their third consecutive victory. Corey Crawford picked up the win in goal as the Hawks earned at least one point in their seventh straight game.
