At Wheaton College’s Todd M. Beamer Student Center, Julie Plum, of Wheaton, tears up as she looks at the bas relief sculpture honoring Beamer, one of three Wheaton College graduates that died on 9/11, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Wheaton. Plum was his fifth grade teacher. Beamer was on United Flight 93 and said “Let’s roll” and recited the Lord’s prayer before the plane crashed in a field outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania in 2001. An anonymous alum has the school place a wreath on the anniversary.
